Flight from Katowice (KTW) to Warsaw (WAW) by Lot

Polskie Linie Lotnicze LOT S.A., trading as LOT Polish Airlines, is the flag carrier of Poland. Based in Warsaw and established in 1929, it is one of the world's oldest airlines still in operation. With a fleet of approximately 45 aircraft, LOT operates a complex network to 60 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, North America, and Asia. Most of the destinations originate from its hub, Warsaw Chopin Airport.

As Poland made the transition to a market economy from 1989, LOT began its own transformation from a wholly state-run carrier to a commercial European flag carrier. LOT started a process of fleet renewal with the purchase of Western aircraft to replace its aging Soviet planes. With the arrival of the first Boeing 767-300ER, LOT started inter-continental services to Chicago, Newark, Toronto, and New York City. These four main routes have been some of the most popular flights that LOT operates, especially during the summer season when many Poles and foreigners come to visit Poland either for vacations or to visit their families.

LOT found itself undergoing constant management change in the late 2000s due to reductions in market share. In 2012 the company took delivery of one of the most modern aircraft in the world, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, however, after placing orders for several aircraft and taking delivery of two, the carrier found itself "nearly insolvent" due to the January 2013 grounding of the Boeing 787.

Like other traditional airlines, it offers two service classes on its flights: Economy and Business class. LOT has also won numerous awards including "Best Airline in Eastern Europe" in 2008, 2009 and 2010 according to the magazine Global Traveler and has been hailed as one of the safest airlines in the world.

The Canals of Bruges, Belgium

Bruges (Dutch: Brugge]; French: Bruges is the capital and largest city of the province of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium, in the northwest of the country.

The area of the whole city amounts to more than 13,840 hectares, including 1,075 hectares off the coast, at Zeebrugge (from Brugge aan zee meaning "Bruges on Sea"). The historic city centre is a prominent World Heritage Site of UNESCO. It is oval-shaped and about 430 hectares in size. The city's total population is 117,073 (1 January 2008), of whom around 20,000 live in the city centre. The metropolitan area, including the outer commuter zone, covers an area of 616 km2 (238 sq mi) and has a total of 255,844 inhabitants as of 1 January 2008.

Along with a few other canal-based northern cities, such as Amsterdam and Stockholm, it is sometimes referred to as The Venice of the North. Bruges has a significant economic importance thanks to its port and was once the chief commercial city in the world. Bruges is well known as the seat of the College of Europe, an elite university institute for European studies regarded as "the EU's very own Oxbridge."

Globus Car Wash

A car wash (also written as "carwash") or auto wash is a facility used to clean the exterior and, in some cases, the interior of motor vehicles. Car washes can be self-serve, fully automated, or full-service with attendants who wash the vehicle. It may also be an event where people pay to have their cars washed by volunteers as a method to raise money for some purpose.

Náměstí Míru Escalator, Prague Metro, Czechia

Náměstí Míru (English: Peace Square) is a Prague Metro station on Line A. It is located in Vinohrady district under Korunní Street and has one exit through an escalator tunnel with a sub-surface vestibule under the plaza of the same name. The exit of the metro station is in the immediate vicinity of the Church of St. Ludmila and Vinohrady Theatre. The station was completed along with the first section of Line A in 1978 and served as a terminus for some time until the extension of Line A to Želivského station in 1980.

Náměstí Míru is the deepest station of the Prague Metro and the European Union. Its platform is situated 53 metres below surface. As a consequence the station has the longest escalators in European Union (length 87 m, vertical span 43.5 m, 533 steps, taking 2 minutes and 15 seconds to ascend or descend without walking). Náměstí Míru, however, is not the deepest point within the Prague Metro network; this record belongs to the tunnel between Hradčanská and Malostranská stations (68 m below surface).

The station is named after the Náměstí Míru square (cs) town square where it is located.

Tramway de Lyon - Line T1 - side view, Lyon, France

For everyone interested in urban public transportation, Lyon is surely one of the multifaceted and most interesting travel destinations in France. At the confluence of the rivers Rhône and Saône there are more than half a dozen different modes of public transportation: Suburban railways, buses, three rubber-tyred metro-lines of which one is operated fully automatic without any drivers, a rack-railway extended as a conventional adhesion railway and labelled as Metro as well, two funiculars, the biggest trolleybus-network in France – and since 2000 a new tramway system.

Currently, there are five lines labelled T1-T5 and the express tramway "Rhônexpress" to Saint Exupéry airport. The most important function of Line T1 is the connection of a large university campus; it acts also as a link between the two main railway stations, Perrache and Part-Dieu. Line T2 has a quite long interurban stretch at the eastern end, as well as line T3, which was developed out of an ancient railway line. Lines T4 and T5 are mainly feeders to the metro. Finally, the Rhônexpress service uses the route of T3 and an adjacent section to the airport. It serves only four stations, Part-Dieu, La Soie, Meyzieu Z.I. and Aéroport Saint Exupéry. At the common stretch with tramline T3 there are some passing loops. But there are already the next projects: In September 2012, the tram-train de L'Ouest lyonnais started operation in the western parts of the city, it will be extended in the following years.

The Lyon tramway (French: Tramway de Lyon) comprises six lines, five lines operated by TCL and one by Rhônexpress in the city of Lyon in Rhône-Alpes, France. The original tramway network in Lyon was developed in 1879, and the modern network was built in 2001.

Line T1 opened in 2001; T2 opened in 2001; T3 opened at the end of 2006; line T4 opened in 2009; line Rhônexpress (airport connector) opened in 2010; and line T5 opened in 2012. The tramway system complements the Lyon metro and forms an integral part to the public transportation system (TCL) in Lyon. The network of 5 tram lines (T1-T5) operated by TCL runs 53.3 kilometres (33.1 mi);[1] the single line operated by Rhônexpress runs for 22 kilometres (14 mi)[2] (including approximately 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) shared with the T3 tram line). The network is currently served by 73 Alstom Citadis 302 trams.

Line T1 extends from Debourg to IUT Feyssine via Perrache, Part-Dieu Vivier-Merle and Charpennes. Line T2 runs from Perrache to Saint-Priest – Bel-Air via Jean-Macé, Grange-Blanche and Porte des Alpes. Line T3 goes from Part-Dieu - Villette to Meyzieu Z.I. via Vaulx – La Soie. T4 Line connects La Doua at the Clinic Feyzin via Charpennes, Part Dieu Villette, Jet d'Eau and Gare de Vénissieux.

Operates from 04:40 to 00:35, maintained by the Centre de Maintenance de Saint-Priest - Porte des Alpes.
