I hope you enjoy part 1 of two part recording. A very well informed Elvis fan by the name of Al Cooley goes at it with Felton in 1973!

To appreciate one has to take into account the perspective of the times of Elvis and The Colonel in full force. This is after Aloha event, and weeks before the first July sessions at STAX. Nevertheless, Felton is willing to answer all questions despite the interviewer rightfully thinking it would be difficult to ask some. It wasn't!

There are errors here and there, and some outright misinformation, for example Elvis's live recordings never being overdubbed. But, the producer was protecting the label at a time that live recordings by major acts were doctored before being released. The public (that was interested), found out about Elvis and many others, years after the fact. Grateful Dead, Kiss, Wings, comes to mind real quick about releasing live recordings where "fixes" were made in small and or large sections, for them to be "palatable", or so the producers and respective acts and their labels, thought.

I hope you enjoy this great listen and sadly, what could have been.
