This biological system is composed of endocannabinoids, which are endogenous lipid-based retrograde neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors, and cannabinoid receptor proteins that are expressed throughout the vertebrate central nervous system and peripheral nervous system.... https://2bitshub.com/cbd-is-healthy-for-you-because-of-your-endocannabinoid-system
awesome we just keep learning more and more!
I'm surprised that this is the first time i've heard of the endocannabinoid system, yet there seems to be (from a quick search on google scholar) well over a decade of research into this 🤔
Probably because, as i read on Pharmacological Reviews, "An impediment to the development of cannabinoid medications has been the socially unacceptable psychoactive properties of plant-derived or synthetic agonists".
I'd be really interested to know what keeps the medical society from informing the general public about their misconceptions. Is big pharma or someone else profiting big by keeping this a "secret"?
