Sulfur Blooming in Rubber

Since Sulfur or RMS is a monomer, it tends to bloom (come out of rubber compound) when it is stored for a longer duration of time.

To prevent blooming , Insoluble sulfur is used in Rubber. Being a homopolymer, it is a long chain compound, hence it doesn’t come out of a rubber compound when stored over a longer period of time (Say up to 15 days). Blooming problem can be resolved using Insoluble sulfur over RMS or normal sulfur.
